Meet Iggy

Iggy is a Labrador Retriever, a breed often called Labradors or Labs. They are one of the most popular dog breeds and make great family pets due to their gentle nature. Labradors have an endless appetite and are prone to obesity if they don’t get regular exercise. Iggy is very food motivated, so we make sure the doggie snacks are locked away out of reach!

He’s a very quirky woofa, but we love all his Iggy-o-syncrasies!

Labradors are highly intelligent, eager to please, willing to work hard, and among the most popular choices for service dog work. Iggy is an ex-Guide Dog, and his chosen career was going to be an Autism Assistance Dog. When he was six months old, he was attacked by an off-lead dog. Iggy was in the Guide Dog Puppy Program at the time and, unfortunately, never recovered from the trauma of the attack. He was withdrawn from the Guide Dog training program and joined the den in December 2015.

It didn’t take Iggy long to settle into his new life, but he still does have some anxiety issues, which we manage very carefully.

He is such a beautiful boy who has matured into the most adorable dog. He is the Master of the Household and has a great life with his best pal, Coral.
